Japanese Koi — An Exploration of Depth, Movement, and IllusionA striking composition where Japanese koi glide through an imagined landscape of darkness, texture, and sculptural form.Designed by Iuri Shubladze for IURISH, Beneath the Surface transforms the traditional area rug into a contemporary work of visual art.Brilliant red-and-white koi move in a single direction through layers of charcoal and deep black. Their varying scales create an illusion of distance, while the folded, almost geological surfaces suggest an endless space beneath them. The contrast between organic movement and architectural structure gives the composition its distinctive character — dramatic yet controlled, expressive yet minimal.Created for sophisticated contemporary interiors, architectural lofts, and spaces where art extends beyond the walls.Product features
