Cross No. 1 | Midnight Blue & Red Coral is a one-of-a-kind sculptural wall piece designed and handcrafted by Yuri Shubladze in New York.
Constructed over a solid wood core, the sculpture is wrapped in hand-shaped midnight blue metallic leather and accented with natural red coral. The richly textured surface explores the dialogue between spirituality, transformation, and materiality, allowing traditional symbolism to be reinterpreted through contemporary craftsmanship.

Each cross in this series is individually designed and handcrafted in my New York studio. Rather than presenting a traditional religious object, I explore the cross as a sculptural form where texture, material, and light become the primary language.
Layers of metallic leather are carefully shaped over wood, creating a surface that changes with every shift of light. Natural red coral introduces an organic element that contrasts with the dark architectural structure, giving the sculpture both tension and warmth.
Every piece is signed and dated on the reverse and exists as a unique, one-of-a-kind work.
